Sustainable & Sweet Honey
If you’re in the mood for something sweet, try our natural honey at Millcroft Inn & Spa! We’ve partnered with Toronto Bee Rescue and Ontario Honey Creations to add 24 hives to our grounds. Each year, our honeybees produce around 2,400 pounds of sustainably-sourced honey. While we do use it in dishes at our restaurant and in treatments at our spa, it is also available for purchase if you’d like to take a little Caledon honey home with you.
Our Honey
The colour and flavour of our sustainable honey varies depending on the season it is produced in due to the different nectar available to the bees. The honey is kept raw and unpasteurized ensuring its natural health benefits remain intact. Honey from Millcroft Inn & Spa can be purchased at the front desk or at the Spa reception desk and makes a perfect souvenir or gift! Small $9.95 or Large $14.95.
Spring Blossom Honey
Lighter in flavour and colour, Spring Blossom honey comes from early season flowers like crocuses, dandelions and tree blossoms like maple, apple, pear and cherry.
Summer Blossom Honey
Closest in taste to traditional Ontario honey, the source for Summer Blossom is mainly clover and offers a unique flavour from the mix of flowers on the Millcroft grounds.
Fall Blossom Honey
Darker and stronger in flavour, rich Fall Blossom honey is produced mainly from goldenrod and asters growing around the property.
Meet our Beekeeper
Peter Chorabik is a third-generation beekeeper. Peter and his wife Sarah started beekeeping in 2012 through their organization Toronto Bee Rescue. Their knowledge and passion for honey bees have led them to move from Toronto to the family farm to focus solely on beekeeping in Caledon.
