From Industrial Strip to Tourist Destination: The Jordan Village
The story of Jordan Village is one of transformation. In the early 1970s, what we now know as a premier Niagara tourist destination was largely an industrial strip. At its peak, the Jordan Wines winery (operating from 1921 to 1986) occupied both sides of the main street with warehouses and production facilities. In 1987, the transformation to a tourist destination now began with Cave Spring Cellars and in 1993, the opening of ‘On The Twenty Restaurant’.

The history of Inn On The Twenty began with On The Twenty Restaurant.
- The Origins: In 1987, Len Pennachetti leased space in the old Jordan Wines building to produce the first 3,000 cases of Cave Spring Cellars wine.
- Expansion: Pennachetti and wife, Helen Young, saw the untapped potential in the obsolete industrial buildings in Jordan. The couple purchased the old Jordan Winery building in 1990.
- The Launch: On The Twenty Restaurant opened in the spring of 1993 in a space that was once a “filthy site” but boasted original pillars and 15-foot ceilings.
- The Inn: The couple purchased a large warehouse across from the restaurant and fully transformed the building. In the spring of 1996, Inn On The Twenty opened its doors with an initial nine rooms.
- Joining Vintage Hotels: In 2017, the property became a member of the prestigious Vintage Hotels collection, continuing its legacy of excellence.
