Luxury Gardens in Niagara-on-the-Lake

Can you believe less than two short years ago, what is now a lavish landscape full of blooms, was not much more than an empty field? Well, if you had visited Pillar and Post a few summers ago, all you would have found was flattened ground; a number of noisy machines; and hard-working people pouring their hearts, souls and expertise into this new Niagara-on-the-Lake wonder: The Gardens at Pillar and Post.

Our team at Vintage Hotels is incredibly proud of all the moving parts and inspiration that came together to create this masterpiece, so we wanted to share a bit about exactly how The Gardens came to be and the design intentions of this Ontario wonder. Whenever you feel like stopping to smell the roses, book your stay with Vintage Hotels in Niagara-on-the-Lake and discover an earthbound dreamworld just steps from Pillar and Post.

Explore a Magical Monet-Inspired Spectacle

We chose Seferian Design Group to bring this magical section of Ontario’s favourite  town to life. Partnering with this innovative leader in landscape architecture, we transformed our six-acre park space into the ultimate indoor/outdoor event space. Inspired by – but not intended to replicate – Monet’s gardens in France, the creation of the garden included bringing in more than 350 new trees, many of which also call the famous artist’s gardens home. In addition to gorgeous foliage, our partners in construction were tasked with developing a replica of Monet’s infamous Japanese bridge, several paved pathways and a lily pond to spur quiet contemplation.

Outdoor Beauty & The Barn at The Gardens

The Barn at The Gardens in Niagara on the Lake

As you walk around The Gardens, you will notice many eye-catching natural wonders. But the appeal of the area does not stop at the saplings. Towards the far side of this perfectly landscaped area, you will find our barn – built from wood that was harvested from a 200-year-old structure. Caymore Design & Construction put this phenomenal centerpiece together, lovingly restoring everything from the authentic barn door through the freshly stained siding. The barn is perfect for intimate wedding celebrations that will seamlessly combine rustic chic romance with the awe-inspiring view of the surrounding landscape.
